New site? Maybe some day.

decided to use my classical guitar as a classical guitar finally. I can finger pick to a point but never put that much effort into it.
my skill level is around stairway to heaven, the bards song, tears in heaven.
Is hybrid worth learning? as far as i can tell it fucks with the dynamics some, could just be that i'm not good at it. |

GOOD THREAD.
I've tried learning on my housemates nylon string cabbrawhatever. I always get stuck listening to the masterpiece album 'One Night in San Francisco" which typically leads to a firm "Holy Shit" from me and I never get back at it.
I still need to advance my triplet Iron Maiden skills on bass before I really divulge into guitar... |

Uaral-Sounds of Pain album has good finger pinking
if you're into 12 string guitars, and anything by James Blackshaw is worth picking up. Litany of Echoes is an awesome album for that. It's not for a beginner, but inspirational nonetheless.
the song Classical Gas and any cover of it is also worth looking into |
Bill Morrissey...sad ass folk at a slow tempo. |
Carcassi has some good fairly beginner stuff. Also, largo in d minor by Vivaldi is a lot of fun. |
Also, Dissection's Somberlain album. It has the instrumental songs, like Feathers Fell, etc. Not the best finger picking examples in the world, but basic and simple. |
Richard Thompson is also a master at it. Older Fairport Convention material, which he was on as well. |
Zeppelin's "going to california" is quite tricky and satisfying to play on guitar, albeit not my favorite song ever. |
Into infinite obscurity - Dissection
Forlorn in Silence - Lord Belial
The Art of Dying - Lord Belial |

Are you hybrid picking on a classical guitar? That could be part of the problem, pick+nylon strings usually sounds pretty weird to me. |
Yeah, your fingers gotta caress those goddamn nylon strings... Fag... Lol |
Is this a sign of the apocalypse? |
Yes. Next I'm going to start misusing the word literally and start practicing satanism.
Also, OP should learn the acoustic end to the song Bergtatt - Ind i fjeldkamrene by Ulver. |

You kids and your Youlver. |
It's code for "guitarfags that like classical"
There's a lot of P.Floyd material that are fingerpicking tunes that had shit built up around them. "Goodbye Blue Sky" and "If" come to mind immediately, as do some of the strum-type tunes that would be simple to fingerpick like "Mother" and "Wish You Were Here." Hippy stuff.
Similarly, I think a lot of Darkthrone stuff would work. |

I only did it for maybe 15 minutes for that very reason |
