Nah, I lol'd because I think it's hilarious that they can play at the Tsongas Arena and have the ticket sales be low as fuck. And then their next tour, they got downgraded to the palladium.
This isn't the first time they've played the Palladium. I saw them there on my birthday like four years ago. The worst Megadeth ticket sales I've ever seen was around 98 when they played Great woods and only seats in sections 1,2, and 3 had sold and like the first couple of rows of the top sections. It was really sad. A friend of mine walked right into Avalon on the Risk tour and said no one was even taking tickets at the door but I didn't make it to that show.

I just think it's silly they can play a venue with... what, an 8K capacity? Then later that same year, in the same fucking state, play a venue which only has a 2K or so capacity.

^ haha wow. And that was still during their commercial-big period. Dave seems obsessed with doing everything he can to make Megadeth LOOK like an arena level band when we all know they just aren't that anymore. I'd be surprised if they didn't at least look at House of Blues Boston for that date though. I'd be a lot more willing to consider going to that if it were right in town.
Last time I saw Megadeth was 2006 with Overkill, paid $10 at the door, huge venue, barely anybody there, Overkill kicked ass, Megadeth was fine. I would need some really good reason to go back at a higher price now.

Well, they did have Slayer and Megadeth to draw at the Tsongas the first time then Motorhead and Volbeat.
I just think it's silly they can play any venue with any capacity and people will gladly pony up 40 dollars to go see a band that put out their best material decades ago and now the voice of the band is a complete conservative Christian wingnut and an affront to everything metal stands for and people continue to not have any problem with this and cling desperately to non-existent hope that this band will one day kick ass again even though that will never ever happen and all that energy could instead be spent forming my own band or supporting other new bands that are in their prime right now

If this is the same setlist they're going to be playing on the North American tour, then I don't have any major complaints other than a lack of the first/third album.
I'd go. Even for $40. Countdown is one of my fave albums. I remember playing the shit out of the cassette in my Walkman in 4th grade. CSB yes. But I'm super stoked for this show and Murp opening.

Now that me and Chris are both using Axe Fx, we can play much smaller venues. We were going to play the palladium upstairs, but we still needed more room for my ego.

Saw RiP in its entirety..so I candie happy. Ill pay $40 when they do So Far So Good ...start to finish...twice in a row. Then die happy.
It's funny because I would actually love to see Megadeth upstairs palladium. Assuming their setlist was a 90-minute long version of the Nancy Sinatra cover.

I remember when Risk came out my buddy bought it for some reason and we all got baked and LOL'd through the entire album and then melted it with a blow torch, and then swore to never listen to another second of that horrible abomination again.
I don't like Risk, but it's still a ten times better album than Cryptic Writings IMO.

I'm not saying that Risk is good, not by any stretch of the imagination, but I just feel like Cryptic Writings is all around awful. At least Risk is funny-bad.
Cryptic Writings is a million times better than Risk. I sold Risk back to Newbury Comics the day after I purchased it. It's the only Megadeth album I do not own.

I'm considering going to the November 9th show so I can see Earth on the 11th. But i'm also considering just passing the tour all together, even though I know most of the songs off Countdown to Extinction i'll probably never get another chance to hear live.
I'm contemplating going on the 9th. I'll most likely complain about the price tag on it right up until I go. To which then I'll decide it was worth it.

I was there last night. Sound was fucking awful for first half of the set. We kept chanting " turn it up " which they finally did during architecture of aggression.

The show was good. Not worth the $45 considering the sound was awful for the first 9 songs. If they had the sound right for the whole show it'd be worth it. I can't see the palladium sound being much better though. Place was fucking packed as tight as a butthole last night too, but they were selling tickets at the door, so I don't think it was sold out.

Sound was still shitty afterwards. I could hear the crowd around me talking over the band.

The only time i've ever seen anyone ever wear corpsepaint at a palladium show OTHER than Tommy has been Morbid Angel, and that's most definitely because Shit Funeral were playing.

Oh that dude from Mansfield? Makes sense. I've definitely seen a lot of little kids wearing corpsepaint at death metal shows though. They're young, whatever.
