New site? Maybe some day.

Anyone going to this? Sounds like badass show. |
Sounds great for various playground gamers. |
Another chance to see arkona? Hm..... |
ANyone know the local bands at all? |
Never could have guessed this one. |
How much did Aversed's parents pay to get them on this show? Did that kid learn how to sing and play guitar at the same time yet? |
I'd like to see Arkona, and Turisas is fun to see. |
i have turisas' battle metal and the varangian way on LP. i FUCKING DIG THOSE ALBUMS. their newest one was such a major unsurprising disappointment. |
Battle Metal is so fucking cheesy.
Bal-Sagoth knows how to cheese better, true story and completely valid opinion bros. |

I'm sure 5/5 arilNLI agree with you, but I'm just trying to support corporate touring bands. |

My car is now full. Age ranges: 33-53, hope we're not denied entry. |
Can Alestorm officially kill themselves, plz? |
I really want to see Arkona but the price is a bit high for my tastes. (yeah yeah I know Russia is a long ways away!) |

Wait a second, this is the Pagan Fest??
bahahahahahahaa
Needs Menhir, Drautran, Wyrd |
I remember the first Paganfest, people falling asleep during Tyr.
Needs some Forefather and ...Elvenking? |
This would get me there for sure. I don't have their last album (from 2010?) but I like all the ones before that. |
THANK you. Ragnarok was touted to me as a "superior album". i can't believe i wasted money on it. |
BRING BACK THE HEATHEN CRUSADE.
that was the best fest in america before MDF and after some of the Milwaukee MFs. Fucking Manegarm played |
It is back and they have Einherjer. March 9, 2013. |
bring back the "palladium booker sucks" thread. But still, Arkona should be good at the very least. Glad this is upstairs too. |
Niceeeee! Going to have to go. The guy that puts it on is great. The venue is pretty cool as well. |
The amount of 21 year old girls on my FB talking about how awesome this show is gonna be tonight is the lulz. |

I'd play duck duck goose with some 21 year old poontang. Beats the shit out of actually watching the bands. |
ITT: crazy moonpeople talk |
ITT: Band covers Irish song, gets DYA's respect |
I liked some of their first material, then their sound didn't go anywhere. I remember their live performance just being yawn-inducing. |

Hmmm. I think they have varied their sound reasonably enough while staying within their blueprint - look at the difference between Land and By the Light of the Northern Star for instance. They clearly had their minds at one end of the spectrum for Land and went the other way for By the Light while still being Tyr.
Only seen them live once and thought they were fine, but read some differing opinions of same show (from fans and critics). |
My opinion might not be worth much because I definitely checked out after their third album (Ragnarok). Haven't heard any of the newer stuff... might check it out sometime. |
I have Erik the Red and one other album and didn't think there was anything that stood out.
They did "The Wild Rover" on Erik the Red, which is a folk song commonly played by Irish jig bands.
That was the only redeeming thing on that album. Everything else is emotionless hogwash and "look what I can do" riffs. NO THX. GIVE ME A REAL PAGAN BAND PLZ. |
Aril is Alestorm's PR guy. Well played, sir. |

Quibble: Jig bands don't play songs, they play tunes. PREMISE INVALID |
TYR fucking rules!! If renditions of Norse and Faroese folk music is emotionless hogwash then we might have to go meet in Chinamentown, bud. |
Boring and cheesy renditions and being outspoken against racism = pussy boring band.
And yes, I love folk metal. |
apparently this is sold out. lulz |
CAN STEVE GET A RIDE TO THIS |
fiddley diddley douche metal |
Great Whiskey Rebellion or GTFO |
Any fest with the word Pagan in it immediately makes me think flutes and faggotry. |
I'm sure there won't be any wanton faggots at this |
ITT: DYA kicks you out of the club |
My elitist attitude ruins everything. |
I totally pulled an aril at this show and protested when Fucking Arkona had people do the wall of death. Also moshing during folky acoustic parts made my penis furious at children. Bring on the 29+ shows. Still had fun though, since I'm so posi |
