is this blasphemy so bad that they do not speak of it? I never heard of it before. I'm about to pop it in.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 9,2010 1:07pm

Tom Savini is the director of Night '90. You would anticipate something better out of the king of gore FX. It was not the worst, and I would watch it again, but it would not be on my priority list. Day of the dead remake was an absolute abortion, and had NOTHING to do with the original, let alone paid any homage to the original. I love the origianl Day Of The Dead. If you want to see the BEST website on the net for all of the Romero dead flicks check out: http://www.homepageofthedead.com
It has a ton of shit, it rips. It has all the info you need about the new Romero dead flick "Survival Of The Dead"
It looks a bit hoakie & has a western theme to it, but I will check it out anyway. Be sure to check out their forums on the site. Always major discussions about all of the Romero zombie flicks, and on the new one coming out. I am not sure if this will be in theaters or straight to DVD.

Bill Moseley in the opening scene makes this worth it alone.

Oscarct, What do you think of the dead Romero dead site?
Diary Of The Dead sucked so bad. I was a bit embarassed for Romero on that one. Young actors and actresses these days for the most part suck and really trashed any potential for this movie to be good. Diary really had a chance to be good, and it dropped off to complete unwiped anal suck.

One thing I really wish for is a Day Of The Dead 2, a continuation of where the first left off. At the very end they end up on some island on a beach. Romero could start a 2nd flick where they have to leave in the chopper to go back to the mainland and get supplies which makes sense. Naturally they run into trouble with the dead and a new band of asshole survivors. Lets mass e-mail Georgy boy to get on that before he becomes one of the living dead. He is old as fuck now.

I liked the Savini remake better than the original. Controversy.

In 1989 another company was gonna make a Night of the Living Dead remake and since the original is public domain Romero was afraid he would loose the Copyright of the title "Night of the Living Dead". So Romero and Savini put together the remake quickly to trump this other company. It actually came out pretty good considering.

this remake was my re-introduction into zombie movies after my horrible expierence with day of the dead at age 7.

Not that it matters, but Diary Of The Dead was in theatres before going to DVD. I saw it at the Lowe's Theatre in Boston and almost vomited from the shaky cam work.

Yeah I saw it in the theater in Boston too but it was the horrible Canadian actors that made me want to throw up.

I forgot to add that alot worse things have been done to Night of the Living Dead including the 30th anniversary edition with the reshot footage, Night of the living Dead 3D that had nothing to do with the original, Children of the Living dead which is the horrible sequel to night made by John Russo, and Night of the living Dead re-animated which is the terribly animated version made last year. Basically John Russo who made the original with Romero will make any piece of shit to make money of Night of the living deads name.

i also have one with a redone score, which isnt the worst thing ever, but the new score is weak and pointless.

and i have the colorized version, which is awesome only because i do alot of drugs.
