New site? Maybe some day.

first and foremost, this is Marduk alive and well, but different. its definitely the next step in evolution from Rom 5:12, but its just....different. its chock full of raging insanity, but the riff work on some songs is weird. for example track 2, "Funeral Dawn", is the same riff repeated for 6 minutes, and its not even really that heavy of a riff. it reminds me of "Imago Mortis" from Rom. the opening track is excellent, they are notorious for grabbing you with a killer opener. the album almost zones out for tracks 2, 3 and 4, but then comes BLASTING in with "Into Utter Madness" which is devastating, and the rest of the album follows suit until "As A Garment" which slows down again. my favorites are "Into Utter Madness", "Phosphorous Redeemer" and "Whorecrown", the latter being incredible. overall i really enjoyed this, its just different than what i expected. the shining element is Mortuus' vocals, that dude sounds like he is gurgling blood when he sings. Legion who? this gets an A in my book. |
please tell me this is leaked. |
i used to really like Legion, but the more i listen to his stuff after hearing what Mortuus can do, i'm not as interested. "Heaven Shall Burn" has some weak vocals. |
The production on Rom 5:12 was amazing. I liked Wormwood when I listened to it once through but it didn't grab me, I gotta listen more. |
it came out today so i'm sure its online. |
Safe to say Arioch / Mortuus / Funeral Mist has made a HUGE impact on Marduk. Lots of parallels in terms of riffs and atmosphere between Wormwood and Maranatha. I loved Rom 5:12 and I like this one even more. A+ |

that's exactly what i said, but the more i think about it, its what needed to happen. Rom 5:12 should stand alone. instead of albums like Annihilation of the Wicked and Ithyphallic from Nile. Ithyphallic is just AotW pt. 2. |

he is one of the best lyricists in the metal world. it sounds like his vocal cords are being torn apart. |
just picked this up but havn't listened to it yet, after the Bruins! |
Just grabbed from iTunes, fucking sick so far. |
Whorecrown is a great song. This album is awesome. Listening to it "properly" this evening. |
Better then the last one but it grows on you and some of the production is different then of old and the last few good Marduk albums. For me a must own! |
Marduk seems like they should be way more awesome than they are. I sorta nod my head like I'm agreeing with them non-commitally when I listen to it. |

...me too. Opus Nocturne was the peak. |
lol!
I'm really digging this album. So far, I liked Rom a bit more, but I haven't really given this one enough time to sink in yet either. |
