New site? Maybe some day.

Pelican was suprisingly good.
ISIS, sounded good, set list questionable, but at least they closed with Celestial.
One of the best sounding shows I've heard. |
Completely agreed on one of the best sounding shows! I have been waiting FOREVER to see both of those bands and it just never happened until last night and neither disappointed - absolutely incredible! I might stand alone on this as well but nice to see some bands with not rediculously priced merch! $12 Tees and like $8-10 CDs is nice to see for the first time in quite a while for me atleast - but incredible show! |
Damn..I had considered goin to this just to see Pelican. |
wow what a piece of shit show that would have been awesome like 5 years ago. |
did ISIS atleast play red sea? |
Nah, they used to play Red Sea years ago when I would see them as a local band. They did bring it back on their ten year anniversary tour in '08. I have to say that this show re-established my faith in Pelican. Liked and saw those guys before anyone knew who they were, and I thought they had the potential to go places with their music. I don't necessarily hate their newer material, but it's just not as well written as the first ep and Australasia. They didn't play anything from TFIOTWBTT or City of Echoes. They performed the best live, and slightly modified version of "The Woods" I've heard. I'm willing to even go a step further and say that it was one of the most aesthetically pleasing songs I've witnessed in a live setting. Both Pelican and ISIS had killer tone, and again, the sound at the Paradise was just incredible. Such clarity, with all instruments being distinguished and nothing obscured. ISIS pretty much performed the new album in its entirety, which, if you're into it, the songs were performed with utmost professionalism. Being more of an enthusiast of their earlier works, I only really got into it towards the end, when they played Carry and then Celestial as the encore. For a free show, I was definitely not disappointed. |
Yes, but I skipped them. I'm not into their music. |
fair enough...was wondering how they were |
Tombs was pretty awesome and I have never heard any of their stuff. But than Pelican killed them and ISIS molested everyone. I'm still in total awe. |
thats cause you like horrible music |
I hate Isis so much it causes me to suffer temporary blindness. Faggot Neurosis cover band is faggot. |
pretty much what i would have done at this show. |
That's also what I do at local NE shows. Oh wait, I don't attend them. |
