just listened to the entire new king diamond album 'the puppet master'
after seeing the cover art and layout i was like, maybe this will rule... but the entire album pretty much blows. i can say i've never been a fan of this cheesy shit. i mean christ, i listen to rhapsody, nocturnal rites, and fucking helloween... but this shit makes a cake with cheese instead of frosting. la roque rules, king sucks.


is it just me, or does SLAYER's guitar solos just consist of dive's and mindless sounding scales (if they even are scales)?

on another note, i can't believe devildriver is on the opeth tour. they fucking suck and i was hoping i would never NEVER have to sit through their set again. hopefully they play first that night.

im not saying i hate solos, i just like slayer solos more than most other solos.

slayer - Fast nonsense solos=works with the band perfectly
soilwork - too many solos and trys to sound impressive= gets boring after the 2nd solo in each song and ruins it for me.

both great bands, but i like slayer's approch better. maybe thats just me though.

Your right, Slayer's scales don't make sense, they would sound good if there was no music in the backround.

Havn't heard Devil Driver, don't plan/care to. There is no way that Opeth will play before them on any night, especially ours since it is the last date of the tour (and to be honest, I get the feeling that they like Massachusetts a lot for some reason, probably cause they are always welcomed warmly).

Return Of The King kicked ass, the best one yet. I saw it Saturday and am seeing it again Wednesday and Friday.

Contrary to what I just said, I just downloaded a few Devil Driver tunes. Pretty bad, but definately not horrible, I like them much better than bands like Dying Fetus and Six Feet Under. Horrible vocals, but not as bad as those of the two bands I just mentioned. Some guitar riffs are pretty catchy, can't really here the bass, the drumming is nothing special, shitty breakdowns, kind of bad recording/mix. On a scale of 1 to 10 of stuff I don't like where 1 is stuff that I hate and can't stand to listen to and 10 is stuff that I don't like but I don't mind listening if it is on (Nelly would be a 1, REM would be a 10) Devil Driver would probably be a 5 or 6.
