the show was last night
i was there: Tsongas arena

beakey and his posse never showed

so i decided i like the Tsongas arena..almost as much as i like saying Tsongas heh

anyhow i get there and my name is on the list woooooo!

but no ticket..only a photo pass..hmmm
so the girl behind the counter shows me the list..and everyone on the same list as me...was only photo...weird because 5 names were on the list....(will explain later) had i brought someone like last time with aaron..would have had to escalate...but no need...

anyhow so i said ok and proceeded to try and enter the gate//i showed the guy my photo pass and he looked at me confused.."what is that"?

anyhow..so then i try explaining i need to take photos....and the woman on his other side says...you still need a ticket...

so i convincingly say..well i just need to take photos and another man who saw what was going on....(i.e. me causing the line to stop moving) comes over and i explain to him i'm here to shoot and he looks at my pass and says i'm all set...:p so there....no going through the turnstyle and giving my nonexistent ticket for me...

anyhow i am walking in and they have security all over making sure kids don't go in the "wrong" section and stay where their ticket stub says to go..and i show my pass and the man tells me welcome to the tsongas arena...you can go anywhere you want " wooooooooo

so i make my way to the front side where security is....and i show them the pass and they are chatty and friendly....i took 2 photos of them...(old men and lesbians..weird mix) and then up to the pit for whirlwind heat...damn

it's been a while since i've shot an arena and it's too bad i didn't have my latest lens purchase on me 50mm 1.4

anyhow..the stage was high...so i had to back up a bit..and high stage and speakers in front = obstructing views

anyhow...this reminded me of why i bring my hard camera case...to stand on...which of course..i didn't bring either....there were like 12 security people with me..no one else took photos...but they were nice and always moving out of my way..even ducking (when they weren't in my shot) lol

now i'm not short... 5 7 about....but the stage was higher than i'm used to...lolla and the huge festivals i've covered lately didn't have a stage as high as this..i cannot remember my last arena show..anyhow

Whirlwind heat..i liked them..their sound reminded me of the WS a bit..that garage rock (i'm bad at labeling music..hence the defy labels) so i may have misused that term...but ..these guys were good...

i get paged and need to make a call but it's noisy...so the nice security escort me backstage to make my calls

hehe i waved hello to the WS (i guess they thoguht i was important) hahaha i had my beeper and 2 cell phones

i made my phone calls... that work related page...well the guy didn't answer and aaron couldn't here me...

White Stripes get on...
1. meg looked good
2. jack ... i think he;s in good shape....but unless you are in ballet..don't wear spandex..i dunno...he had these jeans like spandex pants

about the music..sound was great
some songs sounded quite different...

they were really good

meg sang a song too

they went off stage....

i said good my byes and then i waited upstairs to their right and they came back

i stayed for 2 songs and left right before the 3rd...i didn't want to get stuck in traffic ...don't know how much i missed..i think only 1 song....however...45 minutes later i was in NH and Deb called me stuck in traffic at the Tsongas arena

so good move on my part

damn..i realized how little i spoke of the actual music..but whatever

i got to NH and well asleep working on photos..i got IM'ed and i woke up

lol

ohh dohhh

anyhow...like i said 5 names on the list

no one else shot the opener

and 2 older guys shot the WS too
with their ====================================== >lenses

lol

and they were only shooting Jack

i didn't say a word to them
