Holy Roman Empire Set To Enter Atlas Studios In Chicago To Record Debut Full-Length Album, The Longue Durée, In February 2007!

Chicago’s prevailing genre-bending band, Holy Roman Empire, has booked studio time at Atlas Studios in Chicago with Matt Allison and Neil Hennessey to record their debut full-length album, The Longue Durée, commencing February 5th, 2007. Atlas Studios are known for their work with Rise Against, Alkaline Trio, The Lawrence Arms, and so many
more. Having recorded Holy Roman Empire’s critically acclaimed EP, Lost In Landscapes, there was no question that Matt Allison and Neil Hennessey would once again be the men for the job. Guitarist Jay Jancetic said, “We always look forward to working with Matt and Neil. Everything HRE has recorded has been graced by the hands of Atlas. They have a huge roster of projects they've done, and they are simply great guys to work with in the studio.”

Set for a June 5th release date via Chicago-based label Hewhocorrupts Inc, The Longue
Durée will feature several songs from Holy Roman Empire’s 2006 demos such as “The Ace” and “The Colonel” and the song “Hail Mary” from Hair – Chicago Punk Cuts compilation on Thick Records, in addition to new songs tentatively titled “Olympus”, “Shatter Historic”, and many more. When asked about the new material, Jancetic said: “We are MUCH more focused on writing the songs around Emily's vocals with this release. Writing the full- length has been a very different experience than the EP. We wrote the majority of the music for the EP prior to Emily being in the band. She is the centerpiece of what we are trying to convey this time around. An intense amount of detail was spent tediously going over vocal harmonies and vocal patterns. These songs are much more vocally driven, and that is exactly what we aimed for.”

Holy Roman Empire combines influences like The Cure, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Hum with it’s members’ core roots in Rise Against, The Hope Conspiracy, Shai Hulud, and Arma Angelus to create their own trademark female-fronted post-hardcore sound. Vocalist Emily Schambra lends her voice to Rise Against's The Sufferer & The Witness, which is an
impressive introduction to those who hadn't previously heard Holy Roman Empire. While many insist the underground music scene has grown stagnant over the past several years, Holy Roman Empire is dead- set on leaving its mark on the art form as the band harkens back to the grandiose and ebullient sounds of the aforementioned genre- defining bands,
while managing to chisel their own niche into such fine company. Believe the hype.
