Hilights

- the singer from Adolph Satan getting bootstomped during IDN.
- anal cunt making fun of in dire need "i dunno much about music but they looked like one of those gay bands that probably things dillinger escape plan is cool"
-ugly doods with hot girlfriends.

in dire need was not my thing. too many breakdowns. meh.

random acts of violence was awesome. vocals were a little weak but their guitarist is amazing.

adolf satan was terrible. i was so excited to see this band because i heard good things, but they played pure garbage. it was funny as hell though, their singer was rediculous. he was very drunk and punched some kid for knocking over his beer.

anal cunt kicked ass. they played hilter was a sensitive man and art fag. seth dedicated anyone who listens to dillinger escape plan is a faggot to in dire need. i saw that comming. their set list was 5 pages long. their drummer cut open his finger. kick ass show.

my review:
outside bills bar, ran into the now ex lead singer of Changing Skin talkd to him a few talkd to the lead singer or in dire need a little about shit he was a cool guy. anyway got inside In Dire Need came on 1st they had a wicked short set mabye 3-4 songs? um they brought there fans (ahem stupid hardcore/sxe kids haha) who were jumping around and spinkicking and trying to pit and what not. somehow i wasent paying attention and i got knockd on my ass. (mind you i was WAY in the back of the room) but i just jumpd up and was like wtf. they sounded realy tight dident like the sound in the place tho.

Random acts of Violence very moterheadish i thought they sounded good minus the vocals, the lead guitarist was rather impressive and caught my ear a few times.

Adolf Satan, well they were extremly entertaining the lead singer was what 50? haha nice hair, he was eather realy drunk or just realy old still entertaining. haha i was stearing at the back of a girl (why do sxe kids have strait edge on the back of there clothing in old english lettering?)

Anal Cunt came on. well not as violent as i expected but they ripd threw song after song after song, man wat a set list; 311 sucks, hitler was a sensitive man, i went back in time and voted for hitler, women natures punching bag, body by auskawits, the clapton one, towelhead, limp bizkit think their black but their just gay, chris barnes is a pussy, a lot more... Seth said somthing like "I dont know much about the 1st band but they looked like a bunch of fags who like the dillenger escape plan" haha all the the guys from IDN were loving it. but one of there stupid fans i guess went up front and punchd seth in the head twice, (he didenet miss a growl tho) and dident realy notice till after the show when people told him about it lol and proceeded to look for the guy haha. so show got over around 1230.

it was so great. and seth didnet get arrested at this show as far as i know.

The story about the kid hitting seth in the face is a rather funny one...the kid that was with IDN (sean from worcester palladium) thought it would be a good idea after seth had said that HILARIOUS shit about IDN to slap an In Dire Need sticker on seths face....that was amusing.

Well Joe far be it from me to let you go misinformed. So here's what happened.

1. The Adolph Satan drum kit was sitting in the middle of the floor and should never have been there in the first place.
2. Joe BOTN was dancing and knocked over a symbol stand. Nobody did anything.
3. A minute later Joe did the same thing except this time knocking a beer out of the hands of the singer from Adolph Satan (Larry Lifeless).
4. Larry Lifeless then proceeded to throw a punch at Joe's back.
5. I tackled the guy (the singer from adoph satan)and about 10 of us beat on him.
6. The singer from Adolph Satan never got another punch off. I know this for a fact because I was on top of his right arm as I had him pinned down on the steps.

That was it.

The only thing I can say in defense of Larry Lifeless is that he was WAYYY too fucked up to even know what happened. That guy is a certifiable mess.

There ya go Joe. All the facts.

i heard that someone knocked over part of anal cunt's drum set.
then larry went and punched the gay in the face a few times.a
and then a bunch of people all attacked larry because 10 to 1 odds are the only way they could win.
and he is a mess, but he is one of the nicest guys ever.
i was stranded in roxbury one time with Seth putnam and nick kevorkian and larry got us all a ride home.

It might have been AC's drumset. I'm not 100% sure. Larry threw a punch or 2 but neither of them landed on Joe's face. In fact I wasn't even sure if he was throwing punches or just having muscle spasms as a reaction to whatever pills he was on.

10 on 1 odds.....bills bar.....boston....makes sense to me.

I'm not challenging his character. Yeah he's got to look out for the equiptment, given. But the drums never should have been there in the first place. That was just a stupid mistake on their part. Furthermore that guy is in no condition to be fighting anyone. I barely had to make an effort to knock him over.

Now I know why they call him Larry Lifeless....cuz it's a fucking wonder how he's still breathing. haha

sence when is a "fight" a bunch of kids jumping one guy and kicking him? also it couldent of been that bad it prolly was one of those one punch deals were one person gets punchd and thats the end of it. im shure your all gonna be like oh we kickd this guys ass and shit. why? cuz someone dident pay attention and hit a drum set. hmm does that person play a instrament how would you like it if somone hit your gear and almost broke it? and the guy still got up and ripped threw his set and was realy fuckd up on somthing (i want his drugs)

so back to talking about Anal Cunt

i didn't even know Larry got jumped until AFTER the AC set when we(adolf satan) were loading up our gear. true, the drums shouldn't have been where they were, but why try out for the US Gymnastics team at Bill's Bar? The Reggie Lewis Rec. Center is right down the street....

One of you guys could have taken on Larry, why so many people to jump him? He got up and walked away regardless.

If a band can't take heckling then you shouldn't be in a band

I had a great time, thanks to whoever set it up...

Here's my review and thoughts on this show because I'm bored and don't want to do statistics.

In Dire Need: Not my thing, I'll leave it at that. But they got the kids going and had a lot of energy, so good for them.

Random Acts of Violence: One of my favorite bands, period. They did not disappoint. Surprised to hear that people thought the vocals were weak, sounded great to me considering the pa in Bill's Bar. Would have liked to have heard Slave, but that last song had some harmonized guitar goodness anways, so it was cool.

Adolph Satan: Larry is great. That bass tone was fucking hilarious and I loved their set.

"You know when you're on a merry-go-round? well this song is called Dark Horses... Dark Horses."

Didn't stick around for A.C.

I don't think it's cool that 10 people beat up on that old man. I respect him and his hobo ways so much more than an image-conscious clique. It seems like people behaved like a pack of wolves. He was just out-of- it enough to wander into hostile territory.

Bottom line is that this show brought "Metal" kids and "Hardcore" kids together. Which if you have taken algebra II means.... Metal kids + Hardcore kids = Internet Drama. "Metal" kids go to a show and enjoy the music by hanging out with friends and rocking to the music. Occasionally they will dance and swing their fists. Then you have the "Hardcore" kids. They go to a show and also hang out with their friends. Then once a band (that they support) starts to play, they will smash people..... That is the way it is. "Metal" kids will always hate how "Hardcore" kids dance and "Hardcore" kids will always make fun of how "Metal" kids dance. "Metal" kids will hate "Hardcore" kids and "Hardcore" kids will hate "Metal" kids. That is how it has been since metal and hardcore was created. Accept it. Nothing is going to change.

The majority of metal kids may believe this, but I sure as hell don't. I only hate how the hardcore dancing for this metalcore style inflicts direct and intentional damage on unsuspecting people. If they did their thing in the middle of the floor, then fine, I don't have to deal with it. But I saw this kid start spin kicking when he knew for a fact that someone was right behind him. Not only that, but there were people at the bar sitting down with their backs turned, and these kids jumped on them, through other people, and punched them in the head. That's my problem with these kids.

Actually I didn't have anything to do with it, I wasn't even at the show. Do me a favor, name one metal/hardcore show that this has not happened at. I was just pointing out how different metal and hardcore are and complaining on a message board will always happen. And then you come on and act like a hard ass trying to insult me. I think you should look up intelligence in the dictionary.

actually there's an entirely separate room where the equiptment is usually kept. i've been to a ton of shows at bills bar and i've never seen anyone just plop their drumset down in the middle of the floor like that. bills arguably is pretty tight on space, i'll give you that. but equiptment placement has never really been an issue at bills before, it doesn't make sense that all of a sudden the only place you can leave your gear is right in the middle of the floor where kids are trying to dance.

i don't know what happened there, maybe a lack of communication between the bands and the club staff. but people went out of their way to tell them they should move their stuff.....because it would probably get knocked over.....then surprise surprise it did.

Yeah the same kind of fags dance like that in AFI videos. TUFF!

Oh yeah, I have no problem with real hardcore, but it's just too easy to mock what it's become and the "fans". I could say the same for metal, but that doesn't matter in this case.

this room you speak of does not exist. bands are no longer able to place there "gear" in the next club over. jake ivorys i think.

i'm not defending the guy for putting his drum set in the spot it was in. It was in a shitty spot. and i new with in seconds it was getting knocked over.

i had a great night. it was fun to watch all the crazyness.

right i'm a fucking hardcore kid, also a fucking metal kid, but this means nothing when basically, you are a fucking piece of shit!you new the kit was there so why be a dick head and smash into it, you where probably doing some cool backflip to impress some fat girl, with a worse haircut than yourself!

put yourself in larrys shoes some faggot he doesnt no smashs into his bands drumset(which i'm sure they paid for)because he thinks its cool to act tough, i wish he hadnt been as drunk as he was and hopefully you would now be dead!

hahahaha the reason he didnt feel the 3 of you beating on him is simple, coz your a total bunch of faggot hardcore kids!

anyways is a sad day when you cant just watch a band without getting a foot up your ass, or dropping your beer coz of some moron!

That was when the place next door was Karma Club and even then they didn't let you put the gear in there all the time. Now you can't at all becuase its Jack Ivory's. Ususally the drums get put to the side up front. Thats were our kit was on the left next to the doors. If his was literally in the middle of the floor than I guess that sucks for him but the other place is on the right of the stage on the wall. Either way the gear for most shows there is right up front.

toggletoggle post by Harkins at Nov 13,2003 11:13am
nah the definately do still let you put the equipment next door. The past 4 shows that I have gone to at bill's, which were recent, the equipment has been in there.

I think that, no matter where the equiptment goes, the lesson learned in this is that it doesn't take ten people to beat up a single man of Larry's size and age...
Or maybe it does, because he apparently was not only unharmed, but has grown stronger since this so called beating.

Larry Lifeless is king!

It must depend on who's working there that night and what's happening next door because I played there in august and I asked if I could put my shit next door and they said absolutely not. So I ask where they suggest I put my shit and they pretty much just tell me wherever.

when you guys played bills w/Cannae everyone danced and they danced alot harder then last monday, yet there were no issues with anyone's gear getting knocked over. and nobody laid their drumset out in the middle of the floor.

yeah that show was no problem. that was back in august of 2001. they let us use the side room that day. But when I played there last august I just had to put my stuff on the side near the stage where the pit usually is. I just tucked it away as much as possible, covering up the fire extinguishers of course, and just stood in front of it the whole night and watched people spill beer on everything. Bill's bar is stupid for that.

I won't get into the adolf satan drumset thing though, I wasn't there so I don't know exactly where it was.
