Wow, I'm surprised more people hate rednecks (at this point). Seems to be more hippy hatin' on this forum.

Being anti-hippy makes sense to metalheads because hippies wrap themselves in happiness and good intentions whereas metal finds strength by confronting evil and turning it into something positive; that was in Black Sabbath's words what defined their philosophy as the antithesis to "flower power".

The thing is, that's all well and good in theory, but it doesn't bear out in practice that metalheads should hate hippies. In the real world, there are TONS of greater enemies and threats to metalheads than hippies, and in the grand scheme of things, we probably have a lot more in common than we want to admit.

Everyone who knows our drummer, Casey, knows that someone can be a metalhead, hippie, and redneck simultaneously. He's proud of all three.
