i met erik at a bar in brooklyn last fall. he weighed about 12 pounds, reeked of body odor, and kept mostly to himself smoking lucky strike filterless cigarettes. i talked to him for a bit outside and at the bar in between bands. never listened to watain before i met him (nor have i since). we talked about Worship. an actually good funeral doom band whose frontman leaped of a bridge in Canada to his death; apparently he was friends with the guy. overall, he was an egoless nice guy to talk to. reading this, he seems to have a Varg Vikernes lameness to him. guess there's a difference between talking in person in a civil fashion versus promoting yourself in a public relations parade.
