I've encountered quite a few over the years, and the symptoms you are describing are not typical of that problem. It is very possible that you do, in fact, have a microphonic tube in there (if so, it is worth replacing), but I doubt that that is major contributing factor in what's causing your amp to lose volume and cut out.
