Honestly, the argument could go both ways easily. if I'm in a goregrind band that promotes a violent/gore message but never murdered somebody myself, that doesn't mean it's fake. I just hold these genres of metal in a different regard than some others. Something just doesn't sit right with me if I see a "Viking" band (with props and all) from Kansas.
