Basically they(navy) agreed (in a contract) that they would pay for his entire schooling before he goes in (for the job) then serve the 4years, then get out with placement in a job on a military base of his choice with very high salary/benefits/pension. He did extremely well on his ASVABs, but i took them too and thought they were a breeze. So as long as you scored high enough on them, and your REALLY set on going in, you should try negotiating to make it really worth that much of your/your child's life.
