Now there's a worthwhile critique. The production on Anthems sucks, but not Wrath of the Tyrant and Nightside Eclipse? Gotta be kidding. I thought black metal was supposed to have shitty production anyways?

I do agree though that Nightside Eclipse, and the Enslaved split might be better than Anthems.

The production on those records is far superior (although obviously much more poorly recorded and mastered) than Anthems. That has to do with the way Anthems was mixed. Anthems has a pervasiveness of synth and an emptiness of guitar tone that I utterly despise and gives me a headache if I listen more than a few songs at a time.
