Oh christ man, you don't even know. I was a huge ani fan in college. I was heavy into acoustic guitar (jazz guitar major) and seeing what she did with the plucking, slapping, and popping was amazing. I didn't really pay attention to her lyrics or take them seriously. (they were good, but I ignored the whole angry dyke thing.)

I scored some tickets, really good ones, to see her live in providence. I left halfway through. I was the only fucking guy there, I swear. After every song, I felt these angry lesbo eyes all over me. Scary, seriously. I'd rather yell nigger in the middle of south boston than be the only man at an ani difranco concert.
