After I left work on my way to school, the new afternoon show on WBCN were doing a contest for Pats tickets for two people to face off and ID songs by the guitar solos. Actually, they only have to name the band, not even the song. They asked the two people, a guy and a girl if they were fairly knowledegable about metal. Both were very confident. So it goes.....

First song: I can tell right away it's Winger "Seventeen"
Guy: Uhhhhhhhhh Dood is it that band uhhhhh Slaugtahhhouse?
DJ: Wha Wait What?! Who the hell is that?!

Second song: Took me a bit but then realized just as they called on the girl it's Warrent "Cherry Pie".
Girl: Ummmmmmmm Uhhhhhhhhhh
DJ: WRONG!

Third song: Almost thought it was Ratt but then realized it's Skid Row.
Guy: Ahh jezzz ummmm is it the Motley Crue?
DJ Oh jesus no!

At this point they started to try to make it easier as it suddently appered that they had a pair of dopes who knew nothing about hair metal.

Fourth song: Right away I knew it was The Scorpions "Big City Nights"
Girl: Is it Guns and Roses?
DJs: AHHHHHHHHHHHHH COME ON! ::Sounds of throwing shit::

Fifth Song: Easy. Whitesnake "Still of the Night"
Guy: Ummmmm was that ummmmm Megadeth or somethin?
DJ: WHAT?! DUDE, THAT WAS FRIGGIN WHITESNAKE! TOTALLY DIFFERENT LEAGUE! THAT DIDN'T EVEN REMOTELY SOUND LIKE MEGADETH!

That following answer was so stupid I almost drove off the road. Read carefully as the Djs start giving hints.
Sixth sing: Took me a second or two but remembered it's Cinderella "Shake me"
DJ: Ok! You even heard a lil bit of the vocals so that gives it away. Very distinct voice. These guys were from Philadelphia!
Girl: Oh! Aerosmith!!!!
DJ: OH MY GOD! ARE YOU F'ING RETARDED?! DO YOU LIVE IN MASSACHUSETTS?!

Seventh song: Poison "Talk dirty to me" Hair metal staple. Easy as hell.
DJ: Dude, you've gotta get this! Huge song, huge band, huge hair! The lead guitar player was on that Celebreality show on VH1!
Guy: Oh hell yeah! Motley Crue!
DJ: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! WHY DID YOU CALL THIS SHOW?!

Eighth song: Def Leperd "Photograph". This along with "Pour some sugar on me" are played in just about any bar or club that plays any form of rock music. That whole Pyromania album was nothing but hit songs and sold like 30 million copies.
DJ: Lady please this is so easy. This song is more played out then the jokes about the one armed drummer in the band!
Girl: Oh man! It's those guys! Ummmmmmm it's ummmmmm oh no!
DJ: They're from England!
Girl: Van Halen?
DJ: (Someone dumped out of the audio because he actually swore) ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! YOU AND YOUR BARFLY WHORE FRIENDS NEVER HEARD THIS SONG WHILE YOU WERE GETTING TANKED AND PRETENDING YOU KNOW WHATS GOING ON WITH THE RED SOX GAME?!

Ninth song: A lil harder but it's White Lion "Wait"
DJ: Yeah, this was that band that had that album with ummm lets see...it was WHITE and had a tiger....big cat.....maybe a LION on it. They flimed the video for it in a big WHITE room. The cover had a BIG WHITE LION on it!
Guy: Is it those "It's the Finnnnallll Countdownnnnnn" guys playin that?
DJ: THAT'S NOT EVEN AN ANSWER! DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHO PLAYED "The Final Countdown"?
Guy: ummmmmmmmmmmm nah, but is it these guys?
DJ: (Everyone in the studio is either laughting hysterically or moaning is disbelief)

Tenth song: Motley Crue "Girls Girls Girls"
DJ: This band has been named wrong TWICE! TWICE!
Girl: Poison?
DJ: Kill yourself

Eleventh song: Kiss "Detroit Rock City"
DJ: MAKE UP! EXPLOSIONS! BLOOD! MONEY! WHORES! THEY'LL SELL ANYTHING ON THE PLANET!
Guy: Metallica!
DJ: WHEN THE HELL DID METALLICA WEAR ANY MAKE UP EVVVVEEERRRR?! WHEN?!

TWELFTH SONG: Journey "Don't stop believing"
DJ: It was our co hosts weeding song. Big inside joke on the show. Their lead singer go replaced by a clone of himself. They play this song all the time on the radio still. Starts with a J!
Girl: Oh! yeah! (Starts singing the words to the chorus very badly and forgeting the words)
DJ: You got it! You gotit! Please for the love of God Come on!
Girl: Ummmmm oh jezzz Who does this?! Don't Stop! Belieeving! Ummm
DJ: J! O! U! R! N! E! Y!
Girl: Jorna? Jour what? Journey?
DJ:YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
