On Saturday night, I was assaulted just after Morbid Angel finished up their set. I'm not going to get into too much detail about it. I really didn't want to make a big deal about it but since people are talking I might as well issue a statement about it.

I was talking to Rev, my girlfriend, and standing next to some other friends who are regulars on this board. I was tapped on the shoulder by someone who I thought was a friend, whom I've NEVER spoken a negative word about and someone who is also twice if not more my size. I turned around to shake his hand and say 'What's up?'. Suddenly he grabs my head, bashes it against his, then pushes me over the seat/bar onto the pit floor and takes off. I stood up just trying to figure out what was going on. Everyone around had no idea it was even me at first, some thought it was a joke. Whatever. Anyways, I'm fine. I've since tried calling this induvidual to find out what the issue is, left a message, no reply. I will keep trying though as I would prefer to verbally settle whatever problem there is that I'm totally unaware of.

If you have been around here as of late, you'd know that I haven't been involved in too many discussions especially negative ones consisting of drama. Maybe I'm growing up a bit, or I'm just sick of it, I don't know. Josh Martin and I have had our fair share of arguments over this forum in particular and never has he taken things seriously enough to physically attack me. We've both said some pretty terrible things to eachother but it never left the internet. Why? Because we all have opinions, things to say, and no matter what is said it doesn't mean you want to do physical harm to that person because regardless of what you do to that person you can't take someone's opinions away from them. I will still have my opinions and no one will be able to take them from me, well unless you remove my brain.

I understand there are going to be people who are laughing about this thinking "well he deserved it." None of you will be able to convince me that I deserved being attacked for talking on a message board. Luckily I walked away with minimal injury, but it could have been worse if I was hit in a certain spot on my nose. Who knows? What if for some ridiculous reason I sufferred serious brain trauma and died? Over Internet Message Board Drama...and because someone takes harmless internet drama THAT seriously. Would you be laughing then? you know I wouldn't be suprised if some of you said yes. Am I going to go bomb your house for it or even care all that much? NO.

Well I have to say that my safety is not worth sacrificing for this message board. I know I can post on harmony-central.com and such talking about how certain guitars and amps suck without people much bigger than I hunting me down at shows for a cheapshot. I will still be around but only to discuss shows and other harmless matters. I've been a member of this board since it opened in Jan 02, but whatever, I'll have more time to play guitar/work and get stuff done.

Have fun everyone, and let this be an eye opener to anyone who thinks they are invincible online unless you stay inside all the time you never know who's going to take it to the next level. Apparently there are people who will, even one's who you'd least expect it from.

Was he misinformed? And if it wasn't something said on a message board, etc., why write about it here and then cite that you are going to lay off the message boards?

I didn't say I was going to lay off message boards as a whole, I wanted to point out that I have in fact layed off most of all the drama here and will continue to do so because before you know it, someone takes something in the wrong context, then that person tells someone else but adds on another sentence and by the time it reaches the last person it's a completely different story. I'm am done with it, it's not worth it. So if his point in this was to give me a wake up call to stop internet 'shit talking' it's too late, I already have.
