well, I mean, I disagree with the Reading thing.

it actually was thought out.

See, the original lineup was this:

PsyOpus
The Sawtooth Grin
Ascendancy
The Taste Of Silver
Pray For A Plague

doesn't that make more sense?
but, the venue had to change, and the lineup had to change, and it's close to what it was before, but not the same thing. Those other 2 bands are very technical and would only help to bring out the proficiency with which Ascendancy does their thing, but unfortunately they both had to cancel tours. So Ascendancy is now the most technical band on the bill.

However, does that mean a show should go away? no, it's really hard to predict what will happen, and it could be an overwhelming success.

Audiences can be very predictable, but also unpredictable as well. Josh Kelly's Lickgoldensky show should have had 100 kids, but instead had about 13. It's hard to peg how this will work.

What I can say is this:

upstairs I have been listening to, as of late:
Eighteen Visions
Sense Fail
Gorilla Biscuits
Walls Of Jericho
The Year of Our Lord
Saves The Day

and honestly, I think Ascendancy is a fucking killer band.

so there's no accounting for who will like what. Punks should not have liked Aganihm, but they did and the last show had as many punks as hardcore or metal kids. Aganihm even said, specifically, that they don't want breakdowns and would try to avoid them at all costs, only using them if it was necessary. But, in the end, who could have guessed they'd have a hardcore audience?
