Yeah, cause there is most likely 2 guys behind the counter. They don't pay for advertising, uniforms, commercials, and eqiupment like we do. When we make a pizza, we pay only about $2.75 for the ingredients. Now add in the cost of the 20 minutes we pay the driver to wait for it, deliver it, and come back, all at an hourly wage of $6.75-9. That brings cost up to around $4.50. Now, add in the guy making the pizza, the other 2-10 employees on the clock, and the overhead (rent, gas, electric, etc...) and the cost is completely understandable.

WHen you go to a joint that sells pizzas for $4, there's a reason. It's either a family restaurant where there's no hourly help or advertising costs, or they use shit ingredients, or else they keep getting raped by bigger and better places with superior product so they're desperately trying to win business.

Again, the charge is justified, trust me. I dig through these figures on a daily basis. Hell, even I wouldn't pay for one of our pizzas, I can't aford it. However, I can completely understand every charge we make. If I opened my own place, maybe I'd charge less because my cost would be less.

And Terence, if you get stiffed, the order gets cancelled, along with the driver fee. It's actually there to pay for your reimbursment. (drivers get a $.65 reimbursment per delivery) and the rest goes to offset the cost of delivery equipment and driver pay. By the way, tell Gary the Agar driver I said "hi". I got transferred, so he hasn't seen me in a bit.
